How scrolling capture works

Select the region that scrolls, such as a browser viewport, a Slack channel, or a long settings pane. Shotnix scrolls the content step by step, captures each frame, detects when frames stop changing, and stitches everything into a single image. Cancelling mid-way leaves nothing stuck.

What to expect

• Works on any app that scrolls with the mouse wheel, not only browsers.
• Fixed headers and sticky elements are captured as they appear on screen, so a sticky toolbar may repeat. Hiding it before capture gives the cleanest result.
• The stitched image opens into the same overlay as any capture: copy, save, edit, or pin.
• Tall results are easy to review in the editor thanks to canvas zoom and fit-to-window.

After the capture

Long screenshots are where annotation matters most. Open the result in the editor to add arrows, blur private details, or number the steps before sharing.

How to do it in Shotnix

1. Press ⌘⇧SOr choose Scrolling capture from the Command Center.
2. Select the scrollable regionDraw over the part of the window that scrolls, not the whole window.
3. Wait for the scroll to finishShotnix stops automatically when the content stops changing. Press Escape to cancel.
4. Copy, save, edit, or pinThe stitched image appears in the quick access overlay like any other capture.
