Privacy Policy
Shotnix keeps your capture workflow local.
Effective May 14, 2026. Last updated May 14, 2026. This policy explains how Shotnix handles screenshots, recordings, settings, and permissions.
Data collection
Shotnix does not require an account and does not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, telemetry, contact details, payment details, or usage data from the app.
Local files and app data
Screenshots, recordings, OCR results, QR results, capture history, preferences, and clipboard actions are processed on your Mac. Capture history is stored locally in your user Library. Exported files are saved only to locations you choose or configure.
Permissions
- Screen Recording is used to capture screenshots, record the screen, run OCR on selected screen content, and scan QR codes from selected screen content.
- Microphone access is used only when you enable microphone audio for a screen recording.
- File access is used to save screenshots and recordings to locations you select.
Website
The Shotnix website provides product information and downloads. If hosting or deployment infrastructure records standard server logs, those logs are used for security and reliability, not for in-app tracking.
Third parties
Shotnix does not sell data, does not share app data with advertisers, and does not use data for tracking. The app source code is hosted on GitHub, and issue reports or pull requests submitted there are handled by GitHub under GitHub's own terms and privacy policy.
