Capture history
Every capture, kept locally and searchable.
The screenshot you took twenty minutes ago should not be lost because you pressed copy instead of save. Shotnix keeps a local history you can browse, search by the text inside the image, and restore from.
Search by what is in the picture
Screenshots are OCR-indexed in the background. Open History and just start typing: the grid filters live to captures that contain the word, or type part of a date to find that one dialog from last Tuesday. Filter by capture type (area, window, fullscreen, scrolling, or text) to narrow it down. Images from Capture Text are saved here too.
Undo delete
Select captures with the keyboard or ⌘-click and press Delete. They move to a 7-day trash, and ⌘Z brings them back, even after the notice is gone. Clear All is undoable the same way, so a slip does not cost you a week of screenshots.
Keep as much as you want
Captures stay forever unless you choose a limit: 7, 30, or 90 days, or only the last 100, 500, or 1,000. Settings → Screenshots shows how much space History uses, and Clean Up empties the trash and removes files no capture uses anymore.
A grid that keeps up
The history panel is a dark-glass grid with compact cards and smooth preview framing. Thumbnails decode off the main thread, and the panel updates live as captures are added, deleted, or restored. Drag a capture out and you get the original PNG, named with the time you took it.
Where files live
History is stored in your user Library under Application Support. Nothing syncs and nothing uploads. Delete the folder and it is gone.

Questions
Where is Shotnix history stored?
In your user Library, under Application Support, on your Mac. It never leaves the machine.
Can I recover a deleted screenshot?
Yes, for 7 days. Press ⌘Z or click the notice to bring it back, even after the notice is gone. Clear All is undoable too.
Can History delete old captures for me?
Yes. In Settings → Screenshots, keep captures forever (the default), for 7, 30, or 90 days, or only the last 100, 500, or 1,000. The same place shows how much space History uses and has a Clean Up button.
Does history include recordings?
No. History keeps your screenshots, including scrolling captures and the images from Capture Text. Recordings are saved as MP4 files in your save folder, and Edit Last Recording in the menu bar reopens the latest one in the editor.
